Design and Technology Lab

At Thinkers & Doers, we are committed to creating spaces where students can explore design, engineering, and technology in a hands-on and meaningful way. Our Design and Technology Lab Setup provides a cutting-edge environment equipped with tools such as laser cutters, lathe machines, 3D printers etc. These labs encourage students to move beyond theory and engage directly with concepts like design principles, ergonomics, and material sciences.

Through this space, students gain the skills to identify problems, develop solutions, and build functional prototypes. By focusing on design thinking and technical proficiency, the lab nurtures creativity and problem-solving while introducing students to the interdisciplinary nature of modern innovation.

What Makes Us Different

Cutting-Edge Kits & Tool
Our labs feature industry-leading kits selected based on student suitability and curriculum fit.

Aligned with National Education Policy (NEP)
Our curriculum, workbooks, and assessments are aligned with the latest NEP standards, ensuring academic excellence and relevance.

- Custom-designed furniture for differently abled that balances utility, ergonomics and aesthetics

- Wearable technology with functional and sustainable design principles

- Mechanical prototypes such as motorized arms or gear systems for automation

- Eco-friendly products crafted from recycled or sustainable materials

- Architectural models that incorporate green design features

Focus on Real-World Applications
The Design and Tech Lab bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. Students are encouraged to explore how their creations address societal challenges. By working on projects tied to themes like urban living, renewable energy, or assistive technology, students develop empathy and an understanding of global issues.
State-of-the-Art Equipment
Our lab setup includes industry-grade tools that introduce students to professional-level technologies. Equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and lathe machines ensures students can experiment with precision and efficiency. These tools support projects across a range of materials, including wood, plastic, and metal, allowing students to explore various manufacturing processes.

Benefits of the Programme

Build an innovation mindset
By integrating tech with design thinking, students are encouraged to explore new ideas and experiment with solutions that haven't been tried before. This environment nurtures an innovative mindset, helping kids develop the ability to think outside the box.
Learning by questioning
The program empowers students to ask insightful questions, encouraging deeper understanding and self-directed learning. This process cultivates a curious mindset, preparing them for lifelong learning and discovery.
Build Teamwork Skills
Integrator projects are designed to be collaborative, allowing students to work together to solve complex problems. They learn the value of communication, cooperation, and shared goals, helping them understand how diverse perspectives can lead to better outcomes.
Thinking out of the Box
The fusion of technology and design thinking fosters an environment where creative ideas are not just encouraged but essential. Students are given the freedom to explore unconventional solutions, and their creativity is honed as they bring abstract concepts to life through hands-on projects.
Invest in Design and Technology
At Thinkers & Doers, we believe that fostering a culture of design literacy and technical skill equips students with the tools they need to shape the future. Our Design and Tech Lab is more than just a facility it is a space where creativity meets purpose and innovation becomes tangible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Our course complements the robotics/STEM subject that is offered in schools. The focus of our program is to teach children how to think, not just what to think. At Thinkers & Doers, children will work on interesting problem statements and develop innovative solutions.

We assign age-appropriate themes and problem statements for students to work on. They research, brainstorm, and build innovative solutions to address these challenges. Students collaborate in teams, prototype their ideas, and present their projects at the end of the course.

Children have worked on projects like designing robots for smart storage solutions in agriculture to preserve produce, creating smart waste management systems for cities, and developing efficient food distribution systems to help alleviate hunger.

Students will use a combination of robotics kits (like LEGO Mindstorms, VEX, Cretile or similar), coding platforms, and other materials to build and program their prototypes.

Our focus is on developing problem-solving and creative thinking skills in children and therefore, we don’t use traditional workbooks. Instead, we provide fun and engaging reflection sheets, storyboards, and easy-to-use white paper templates that help kids think critically and express their ideas.
